K100S Cast Tool and Jig Aluminum Plate

ATP-5 Cast Tool and Jig Aluminum Plate

Description

The K100S cast tool and jig aluminum plate is a product that is produced using aluminum alloy that is fine-grained. It doesn’t have any internal stresses. Internally, this grade of aluminum is stable, which ensures that little to no movement is done during machining. This is a machined product that comes with a flat surface. The surface finish is typically 32 micro-inches or better on either side of the product. K100S aluminum can be easily machined without worry of distortion. When proper machining methods are being used, K100S cast aluminum plates are capable of maintaining tolerances that are within the thousandths range. Compared to steel plates, cast aluminum is one-third its weight. Because of this, it removes the requirement for equipment for heavy handling in order to install or set up the product.

Another reason K100S aluminum is widely used is because it is highly corrosion resistant, eliminating the need for protective treatment. Once the tool is no longer needed, the salvage value for this product is a lot more than steels. When strength isn’t a requirement, but flatness and minimal distortion during machining is needed, cast aluminum tools and jig plates can be used. This product isn’t heat treatable. The electrical conductivity of this metal is 36 percent of copper.

Common applications that this product is used for include drill jigs, vacuum chucks, assembly jigs and fixtures, printing machine components, aircraft parts, automotive tools, plastic and rubber molds, CNC routing tables, medical instrumentation, vacuum chambers, electronic parts, templates, hydro press form blocks, prototypes, foundry patterns, circuit printers and food machine components.
