The qualities exhibited by this aluminum square bar make it the product of choice in the aerospace industry. It is used to make different parts and structural components that are often used in the fuselage and wings of the airplanes. The factors that make this product a good fit include its ability to provide a material that is strong despite being lightweight along with the ability to resist fatigue problems such as cracking that can occur.
In addition to the aerospace industry, there are many other uses for the 2024 aluminum square bar. It is often used to make hydraulic body parts, fuse parts, gears and shafts, pistons, rectifier parts, missile parts, fasteners, cap nuts, bolts, hardware, truck wheels, transportation industry parts, and computer components. The tensile strength of this product can be as much as 70,000 psi.

The 2024 aluminum square bar is not designed for welding uses. The heat from the welding can cause the product to degrade. It will offer good resistance against corrosion, which makes it suitable for marine uses, but the heat from the welding can compromise this and degrade the product. When welding is required for this product, spot welding is recommended to limit the amount of integrity loss caused by the process.

The machinability of this product make it suitable for many uses. It can be machined with a good level of precision to create parts quickly and easily that will work properly for an extended period of time.
