The 2024 Aluminum Sheet offers a product that has good strength to weight ratio, good fatigue resistance and above average machinability. This helps make it very useful in many different industries and for a wide variety of applications.

The most common use of the 2024 Aluminum sheet is in the aerospace industry. It is often used for the fuselage assembly and the wing tension members. It is highly regarded in the aerospace industry because of its strength and light weight capabilities, along with the ability to resist fatigue issues such as cracking. The ability to deal with temperatures in excess of 250° F is another advantage of this product in the aerospace industry.

The aerospace industry is not the only place where this product his useful. It is also found in the transportation industry and the computer component industry. It can be used for making hardware, hydraulic body parts, rectifier parts, missile parts, truck wheels and other hardware.

The product comes in different thicknesses. The thicker the sheet, the better it will perform in both strength and fatigue resistance. It offers a yield strength of 50,000 psi. That strength is what makes it ideal for use in a variety of components in the different industries, lending to its versatility.

The 2024 Aluminum sheet does not offer good corrosion resistance when welded. As such, it is not recommended for use with any welding applications, although if absolutely necessary, spot welding techniques should be used in an attempt to minimize integrity loss. It is possible to add an anodized finish to help in this area.

The ease at which the aluminum can be machined allows for faster creation of precision parts that need to be strong and reliable.
